Some of those who support the PLP say that I have become an OBA apologist – well I haven’t (the issue of the recycling centre was a political farce), but I do hate hypocrisy and the re-writing of history.
So what does Zane want? First the PLP ‘lambast’ the Government over the size of the salary for the BTA’s CEO, then they berate Government for cutting the tourism budget.
Perhaps he should be reminded that it was his old friend, former Premier Ewart Brown, who cut the tourism budget by some $5million in 2008 – resulting in people losing their jobs.
Was there an uproar then? Perhaps he should also be reminded that it was under the PLP that the country’s debt soared to unsustainable levels.
To compare the CEOs salary to the President of the United States and the UK Prime Minister is also totally, deliberately, misleading. It has always been the case, and will always continue to be the case, that CEOs in the private sector consistently earn more than politicians.
Zane: it is why clever people like CEOs don’t go into politics.
As I said the recycling U-turn was a fiasco and adds to other U-turns by the this Government such as the referendum on gaming. Keep this up boys and you’ll have us all spinning like a top.
And that hardly makes for giving us confidence …..
