I will do a more detailed post later when the implications have truly sunk in.
It is a huge blow that the Bermuda Sun is closing. It is one less voice out there holding people and institutions to account.
It means there is a huge concentration in power in the RG as the only print and online vessel, and that is unhealthy, very unhealthy.
We have seen recently how important it is that there are other press out there. The Sun has, IMO, lead the way in the Jetgate reporting and it reports on the community as a local newspaper should do.
I have known some of those guys a long time. There will be shock in the building. If I can say anything it is that there is life after newspapers and, although it might take a little while, you will rebuild your lives and careers.
