Election fraud? Update 2

This: Mr Brown said that he had signed affidavits from members of the public who confirmed that they had been offered inducements for their votes — although he declined to identify the constituenciesis rather buried in a story in the RG.

Election fraud or attempted election fraud needs exposing regardless of the damage it may do to the country’s reputation.

There is simply no room for this in a civilized country and it needs weeding out and stamping on heavily in order to send the right message that it will not be tolerated.

If Walton Brown does have these signed affidavits he has a duty to report this to the Governor or to release it via one of the many media here. He cannot just hang these allegations out there, that will do more damage than uncovering it and punishing the offenders.

Do the right thing Mr Brown.

UPDATE: Today (June 13) we have more supposed allegations that have been left to hang. It is just as damaging to leave them hanging like this as it is to name names or release the tape.
Get real. Put up or shut up.

UPDATE 2: Just letting it hang there again: http://bernews.com/2014/06/mps-ask-series-of-unusual-what-if-questions/

  1. My interpretation is simply that the sworn affidavits are going to go to court and it may prejudice such action if they are revealed prematurely. I don’t think they would mention these, and take care to note that they are sworn affidavits, if they weren’t going to take some sort of action regarding them.

    1. Ok did not see any mention of court hearings in the story. Guess it would be a criminal action? Strictly speaking there is no reason not to go public until someone is charged, but there would be risks involved in publication

      1. I don’t know, I am simply giving my interpretation of there being sworn affidavits. It may be for a parliamentary committee or to be sent to the UK or police for an investigation. But, yes, vote-buying is technically an offense, just really hard to prove.

    2. Ok saw no mention of court proceedings. Proceedings are not active until someone is charged (criminal)or the case is set down for a date (civil) so the story could be done, athough there would be risks involved and it would need to be carefully legalled
