I don’t know what it is – but I cannot face more gadgets any more.
We have things ranging from a telescope to a camera that I simply cannot figure out how to use.
I dread Christmas and Birthdays in case someone has given me another gadget which will serve only to make me feel completely, utterly, useless and stupid.
The same applies to children’s birthdays – knowing that I will probably be a useless Dad ‘cos I just cannot figure out how to use the latest bit of tech and my child’s special day is irrevocably ruined.
Am I alone in this feeling of being gadgeted-out? I reckon not, so there are just so many of them (gadgets and ageing teched-out Dads) out there.
So why is it happening? (Any answers on an old fashioned postcard please….)
Look at this gadgets for men website – what more needs to be said: there are hundreds of absolutely useless stuff out there and we are being overwhelmed by them! Do I really need an iPhone, an iPad, a Kindle, Apple TV, Netflix, a 54 inch surround sound TV and stereo system that comes complete with a remote control the size of my size 12 feet?!
And of course the list of what is actually out there goes on and on. Do I need this: water dancing speakers, or this: Cookcoo watches or this: Muvi Atom Micro Camera Bundle? (What is that anyway?)
We are surrounded by it, they are pushed into our faces? Is it any wonder we are overwhelmed?
